ARC Review: Kinky Sprinkles by L.A. Witt
Blurb:
Joel has finally walked away from his abusive ex and is ready to meet new people. But that isn’t easy for a guy who’s shy, self-conscious, and struggling with his body image.
Andre has wanted Joel since the first time he laid eyes on him, and finally Joel is single. But Andre is a Dom and a sadist, and Joel is unapologetically vanilla. There’s no happy medium—either Andre reins in the kinky side that took him years to accept, or Joel grits his teeth and subjects himself to kinks that aren’t his thing. No matter who bends, someone’s going to be unhappy.
They agree to walk away, but they keep circling back to each other. Though their kinks might not line up, the chemistry between them sizzles and the emotional connection keeps getting deeper. But none of that will get them anywhere if they can’t find some kind of middle ground in the bedroom.

It’s L.A. Witt, of course I had to read/request Kinky Sprinkles. The title alone made it a book I wanted to read! But somehow it didn’t make it to be one of my favourites from her and I can’t even exactly pinpoint why not.
I think it’s mostly that this one is really short and didn’t leave a lot of space to delve really into the characters story and developing relationship between Joel and Andre.
I just expected this to be more focused on the relationship, when in truth it focuses on them starting this relationship. Although now that I read the blurb after reading the book I can’t say that the blurb was misleading. It was just me interpreting things into it, and therefore having false expectations.
I still liked the book and especially the ending. Because why always have a “conventional” ending? And I can’t say I expected anything else when I started this book because it seems so obvious.
At the end of the day, I’m a vanilla guy. Maybe with some… I don’t know, some kinky sprinkles on top or something. But definitely vanilla.”
Andre has had his eyes on Joel for quite a while, before Joel left his former Dom, Andre wanted Joel. And when Joel’s finally single and ready to meet his old friends again Andre acts fast. Although neither of them is ready to give up part of themselves they just can’t stay away from each other. I really liked both Andre and Joel, I just wish we could’ve had more time with them to get to know them a bit more.
But I can say that despite it not looking like it, Joel and Andre just fit together. One of my favourite scenes is the first time they have sex at Andre’s and how considerate and attentive he is to Joel. Taking care of him and finding a way to make Joel as comfortable as possible.
“You know what?” He finished putting on the condom. “Just to make sure I’m not hurting you, why don’t you get on top?”
Both characters know what they like and what they don’t like. And Joel is done pretending to be into BDSM, when he just.. isn’t. He did that with his last boyfriend and it didn’t end well. Sure, he likes his “kinky sprinkles” but is no way in hell going to be a submissive for anyone ever again. I really loved how Ms. Witt didn’t bend and twist either of the characters out of shape to fit in a form deemed acceptable by society. That’s all I’m going to say on that. If you’ve read the book you know what I mean, but I’m trying not to spoil the end of the book.
Overall this was an enjoyable book but I didn’t fall in love with it.
